Do you design mobile websites?

Yes, I design mobile friendly websites. Depending on what the goal for your website is, there are a few solutions available. I typically go with a response design for these cases, simply because you get the functionality of having 2 websites, but you only pay for 1.

Do you offer free consultations?

Yes, I offer a few options for free consultation, some of which include:

  • In person meeting up to 1 hour
  • Telephone / remote desktop meeting up to 1 hour
Why choose you?

I provide all the services myself. What this means for you is that I will be your only point of contact, and will be able to answer all your questions.

I answer emails promptly(usually within 1-2 hours)

Can I accept Credit Card payments on the website?

The short answer is Yes. There are a variety of ways to do this, which are specific to each clients’ needs.

Is there any training provided?

I can provide remote desktop support, and can also create screencasts to help you with the specific requirement.

How do I update my website?

When updates are needed on the website, there are a few options:

  • Supply me with the content, and I can update the website
  • You can login to the WordPress Dashboard, and do the updates yourself

I know this can seem a little overwhelming at first, but WordPress is very user-friendly. If you are able to use Microsoft Word, you will be able to use WordPress. I encourage people to do their work in Microsoft and then paste (From Word) into WordPress. The reason for this is that it’s easier to work in an environment you are familiar with. WordPress can transfer the styles you associate with content in the Word document.

Do I need to keep my website with you forever?

You may move your website at any time. I will help facilitate this by making the domain transfer as easy as possible, provide a MySQL database backup, and also the FTP backup

Do you perform backups?

I perform scheduled and manual, routine backups. These include a backup of your MySQL database to a dedicated gmail account, once weekly. I also do a manual backup monthly, which is then downloaded from my FTP.

Manual FTP backups are done monthly, which include a download of the MySQL databases

What is your design process?
  • provide sample websites that you like/dislike
  • wireframes
  • design layout style for website
  • input content
Where are you located?

I’m located in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Although I always prefer to meet with the people I’ll be working with, sometimes that just isn’t feasible to do in person. With the help of logmein(Remote Desktop Sharing Software), I have been able to design websites with clients located in:

  • Seattle, WA
  • Portland, OR
  • San Francisco, CA
  • Chicago, IL
  • Victoria, BC
  • Vancouver, BC
  • Toronto, ON
  • Calgary, AB
  • Edmonton, AB
  • Regina, SK
  • Saskatoon, SK
How long to complete?

Once I receive your final content, it typically takes me 1 week to have the website complete and fully functional. I can accommodate a compressed launch schedule if the project is time sensitive. If requested, I can realistically have a website complete in 24-48 hours(once your final content is submitted).

Website design cost?

I offer basic website design solutions starting at only $500. I’ll work with you to get your business online, without breaking the bank! My premium website designs  typically have a budget of between $1000 – $2000. The bottom line is that I understand the importance of minimizing costs, and I will work with you to develop a website that won’t be a hot mess!

What platform do you design with?

I design the majority of my projects using the WordPress framework. A few reasons why I love WordPress:

  • Open Source – with the largest support community
  • Most widely used and supported, website management system
  • Plugin selection – that allows the functionality and features of a high-end website, without breaking the bank
  • Shopping Cart support
  • Complete and clear separation of content from design
  • Post-development updates are easily done by the client, or myself; if you are able to use Microsoft Word, you will be able to use WordPress, it’s that easy

Although I prefer WordPress; I also design HTML websites, depending on the projects specifications.
